The surfaces of components are exposed to a variety of external influences that can lead to significant damage. These include mechanical stress and weather conditions as well as carbon dioxide in the air and other chemical substances. The use of surface protection systems, i.e. coatings and impregnations, protects exposed concrete surfaces from these stresses.
